In this chapter we look at how relationships are structured around the distribution of power. We consider different forms of power in relationships and the different ways that power can be distributed to form fair, just, and non-oppressive ways of relating. Finally we consider marriage and look at different ways that marriages can be constructed with different sets of assumptions about how power can we shared.

Chart of the Types of Power shows how power over, power with, and empowerment are distinguished from each other and the strengths and weaknesses of each.

Chart of the Types of Relationships shows how mutual relationships, authority relationships and fiduciary relationships are distinguished from each other and the advantages and disadvantages of each.
